Fighting Stallions

An Appaloosa and a white-bellied brown horse battle for supremacy of the herd in the middle ground. A dramatic sky above seems to accentuate the action. The "Fighting Stallions" were said to have symbolized John Wayne and Robert Mitchum.

This painting was owned by Paromout Pictures and later sold at Butterfield & Butterfield Auction for $90,000.
